184 Silicone Rubber Coating Adhesive

Dow Corning DC 184 Silicone Rubber is a two-component kit product consisting of liquid components, including a base component and a curing agent. The base component and curing agent are thoroughly mixed at a weight ratio of 10:1, resulting in a medium-viscosity mixture with a consistency similar to SAE 40 engine oil. Regardless of thickness, the mixture will cure into a tough, transparent elastomer used for encapsulation and potting applications in electronics/electrical fields. Dow Corning 184 Silicone Rubber cures within a temperature range of 25–150°C without exothermic reactions and requires no secondary curing. Once the curing process is complete, it can be used immediately within a temperature range of -55–200°C.

Usage Instructions
Pretreatment: Surfaces to be potted should be cleaned or degreased. For optimal potting results, it is recommended to use DOWSIL-1200-OS primer.

Application: Mix components A and B uniformly in the specified ratio (by weight) using manual or automated equipment. For applications sensitive to gas entrapment, degas for 5–10 minutes under a vacuum of 10–20 mm Hg. Extend degassing time appropriately for larger quantities of compound. Place the part to be sealed horizontally with the filling opening facing upward, pour in the potting compound, and allow it to self-level.
Curing: This product cures at room temperature. Heating can accelerate the curing process.
